Fun with friends while in Tacoma

Some of the friends we used to play
with. Rob and Debbie are on the ends.
One of the cats is one that we brought
with us when we moved back to Illinois.

More friends. Debbie and Joan in
the center. Notice the old camera!

I'm the one posing and Joan is in the
back on the far left. We used to
do a lot of bike riding and roller skating in front of
the house. Our skates were
the metal kind that you attached to your
shoes and used a skate key to tighten. They
could get bigger or smaller-it all depended
on who was using them at the time. We
used a lot of our imagination then. My
school had a tether ball that I liked to
play and since we didn't have the money to
buy one, I found an old basketball that had
holes in it and put a rope through it and
tied it to a tree and played with it that way!
I also liked to lie on a blanket in the front
yard and look at the clouds to see what shapes
I could find. There was a park across the street
in front of our house and behind the houses on
the other side that we all played at. All it had were
swings and monkey bars but we had a lot of
fun. We would go as high as we could on the
swing and then jump and see who could go
the farthest. I know we never broke anything but
I'm very surprised! I don't think we had any
board games. Joan and I liked to sit in our room
with little pieces of paper and write notes back
and forth. (early e-mail?) I also liked to put the
kitchen chairs in a row and pretend they were
a train. (Bristols love for Thomas the train?)
I had a doll that I loved and we used to play
house.

You missed your calling as a model!! Such a pretty little girl. Is the camera the one that you had when we lived on Magic Oaks?
